Continuity of exchange of conferring the title of honorary general to CoASs of India and Nepal is a welcome tradition: PM Oli

General Upendra Dwivedi of the Indian Army during his Five-day-long visit to Nepal called on Prime Minister of Nepal K.P. Sharma Oli and Defence Minister of Nepal Manbir Rai and discussed various aspects of unique and close bilateral defence cooperation between India and Nepal.

PM Oli expressed happiness over the continuity of the exchange of conferring the title of honorary general to the CoASs of India and the same being reciprocated with Nepal as a welcome tradition. The two-country relations and cooperation should be expanded.

On the occasion, Indian CoAS Dwivedi expressed belief that he would play his part for the expansion of the bilateral relations. Also attending the meeting were PM’s chief advisor, Bishnu Rimal; Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava; Joint Secretary at Foreign Ministry, Bhrigu Dhungana; and major general of Nepali Army, Madhukar Karki, among others. Earlier on Thursday, President Ramchandra Paudel had conferred the insignia of honorary general of Nepali Army on the Indian Army Chief Dwivedi.

General Upendra Dwivedi visited Nepali Army Command and Staff College at Shivapuri and addressed the students and staff today.
