Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare said that Quality control orders-QCOs now cover more than 750 Products to ensure the safety and welfare of consumers. Addressing a Seminar on Strengthening Quality Ecosystem in the Manufacturing Sector in New Delhi today, she said that QCOs will help the country to acquire a greater share of the global manufacturing market.

Speaking about the safety marking of products in e-commerce platforms, she said that government has given directions to e commerce platforms to sell only BIS and ISI mark products. Mrs. Khare also added that country’s export of toys has increased by 250 percent.

Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, Scientist of CSIR- Indian Institue of Chemical Technology Dr Nettem V Choudhary said that Quality of the product is really important becuase consumer want product to last longer.
