Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi has said Congress wants to change the Constitution of India. He also said Congress wants to take away the reservations given to Scheduled Tribes (STs), Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and give the same to its vote banks, if it is voted to power. Mr Modi said he will never allow the Congress party either to change the Constitution or to curb reservations meant for the STs, SCs and OBCs, saying it is Modi’s Guarantee. Addressing an election rally at Bargarh of Odisha on Saturday afternoon, Mr Modi, without naming former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, said the senior Congress leader once tore the Cabinet decision taken by the then Manmohan Singh government which proves that the former Congress president has no faith in Indian Constitution. Mr Modi also took a dig at Odisha Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik saying the Odisha government is run by outsiders. He said, Mr Patnaik has outsourced the Odisha government and Mr Patnaik should be shown the door.
Odisha is going for simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in four phases from Monday. There is a triangular contest in Odisha among BJD, BJP and the Congress.
