Congress, RJD hold strategy meet in Delhi for Bihar polls

Senior leaders of Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal, RJD, today held a meeting in New Delhi and discussed their strategies for the upcoming Assembly Polls in Bihar. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, senior party leader Rahul Gandhi, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and others attended the meeting. Talking to media after the meeting, Mr Yadav descibed the meeting as positive, adding that they will held another meeting on 17th of this month in Patna. He alleged that even after 20 years of NDA rule in the state, Bihar is still the poorest state in the country. Replying to a question to the Chief Minister’s face, the RJD leader said they would discuss and unanimously decide it.

Meanwhile, the BJP has taken a dig at RJD and Congress, saying such meetings are going to yield no positive results for the opposition alliance, as people of Bihar have already made up their mind to vote again for the NDA. Talking to Akashvani News, party spokesperson Zafar Islam alleged that Congress has been a liability for its alliance partners in Bihar as well as in other states. He added that in the last assembly polls, the Congress performed badly, and the same performance would be repeated by the party in the next assembly polls as well.

The election for the 243-member Bihar assembly is scheduled to be held later this year.
