Congress accused the government of misusing the Central agencies including ED, CBI and Income Tax against the Opposition leaders. Briefing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi alleged that the cases against politicians predominantly featured Opposition leaders’ names. He also alleged that cases against those politicians who joined the BJP were closed or were brushed under the carpet once they joined the BJP and became government witnesses. Mr. Sinhgvi said, this has become routine and people now understand this very well.
