Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal today urged domestic investors to join the startup landscape of the country. Inaugurating the second edition of Startup Mahakumbh at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Mr. Goyal expressed optimism that India will become the 4th largest economy in the world by the end of the current financial year. He further added that the country aspires to become the 3rd largest GDP globally by 2027. The Minister advised Indian startups not to shy away from competition in order to become the largest startup ecosystem in the world. Our correspondent reports that over 3,000 startups, nearly 1,000 incubators and accelerators, and industry leaders are attending the Startup Mahakumbh, making it the world’s biggest platform for showcasing innovation. During the 3-day event, assistance is being provided by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to all startups so that they are ready to start selling on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).
