BJP today accused TMC President and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of protecting criminals involved in the heinous crime of rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata. Briefing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia alleged that the Chief Minister is trying to protect the culprits in this case. He said the case has been transferred to the CBI  following the Calcutta High Court’s direction. Mr. Bhatia  also alleged that the state government delayed the transfer of the case to the CBI and demanded that  the Chief Minister  should resign over the issue.
