CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis reviews crop loss caused by excessive rains in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today reviewed the crop loss caused by recent excessive rains in the Udgir region of Latur district, as rainfall abates in the Marathwada region. The leaders spoke to affected farmers and promised relief. Latur’s Guardian Minister Girish Mahajan also visited the damaged farmlands in Gharni and Chakur, assuring farmers that panchnamas are being conducted and adequate compensation will be provided.

State Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde visited Parbhani district to inspect the damage. He interacted with local farmers and directed revenue and other concerned officials to complete the filing of panchnamas as soon as possible.

Preliminary reports indicate damage to Kharif crops across approximately 6,067 hectares in Dharashiv, and to crops over 203,415 hectares in Beed. In Bhandara, crops like chili, brinjal, bitter gourd, and drumsticks have been destroyed. Last week’s heavy rainfall in these districts, along with Nanded and Aurangabad, caused widespread flooding and disrupted normal life.
