Cleanliness should not remain a mission on paper but become a reality visible across streets, villages & cities: Maharashtra CM Ekanth Shinde

Maharashtra Chief Minister Ekanth Shinde has said that cleanliness should not remain a mission on paper but become a reality visible across streets, villages and cities. Chairing a review meeting regarding cleanliness campaigns being organised under the ‘Swachata Hi Seva’ fortnight, Mr. Shinde said public participation is a must to make Maharashtra a clean state. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving a clarion call of ‘ek tareek ek ghanta’ on 1st of October to mark Gandhi Jayanti. He directed the authorities to hold actual cleaning activity during the campaign at two spots across each ward and one spot across each gram panchayat at the designated hour.

Directing authorities to carry out a cleanliness campaign right from gram panchayat to city level, Mr. Shinde announced that the ‘Chief Minister Saksham City competition’ and the ‘Chief Minister Saksham Ward competition’ will be held across the state.
