In Maharashtra, cleanliness campaign was organized at around 73 thousand places. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with lakh of citizens, students and volunteers participated in this campaign. In urban areas of the state this campaign was organized at 14 thousand 500 places and in rural areas cleanliness drives were organized at more than 58 thousand places. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that in Maharashtra's urban area, the target was to organize campaigns at 13 thousand 324 places. But the state has exceeded this target and organized a cleanliness drive at 14 thousand 500 places. He said, this cleanliness campaign should continue all around the year. Forts, Religious places should also be cleaned on a regular basis, Mr. Shinde added. Thousands of students of 418 ITIs also participated in cleanliness campaigns organized at various places. These students will take part in a cleanliness campaign at various forts tomorrow. Central Bureau of Communication also organized a cleanliness drive at 6 places. Veteran cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar, actors Padmini Kolhapure, Juhi Chawla, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Subodh Bhave, Consul of Israel in Mumbai Kobbi Shoshani, officials of Indian Navy and Coast Guard also participated in the cleanliness drive.
