In Manipur, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh inaugurated the State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM) constructed at the foothill of Nongmaiching under Imphal East District today. The Institute was constructed under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Tourism Government of India and the implementing agency for the construction of the Institute was entrusted to the Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited. This Institute offers courses like B.Sc. Hotel and Hospitality Administration, B.Sc. Culinary Arts and Catering, BBA in Travel and Tourism Management and PG Diploma in Aviation, Hospitality and Tourism.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that SIHM will help boost the tourism sector in the State and create employment for the youths. He also said that the Government had taken up many development projects across the State in the Tourism sector. The event saw the participation of Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, and senior civil and police officers.
