In Chhattisgarh, the BJP launched its 'Parivartan Yatra' from Dantewada in tribal Bastar division today. The BJP state in-charge, Om Mathur, flagged off the yatra at the famous Maa Danteshwari temple.
The first phase of the yatra is planned for 16 days. Yatra's second leg is scheduled to commence on September 16 in Jashpur. BJP national president J P Nadda is expected to flag off the second phase of the yatra.
Both the Yatras would cover a distance of 2,989 km across 87 assembly segments of the state and will culminate at Bilaspur on September 28, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the concluding ceremony.
The aim of these yatras is to highlight the Central government's achievements and the 'failures' of Chhattisgarh's Congress government on various fronts. Assembly polls are scheduled this year in Chhattisgarh.
