The death toll in the road accident in Chhattisgarh has increased to 19.

The accident took place under the Kukdur police station area of the Kabirdham district of the state when a vehicle lost control and fell into a ditch near Bahpani village.

There were 25 people in this vehicle, who were returning to their village after plucking tendu leaves from the forest. 13 people died on the spot, while 12 injured persons were admitted to hospital, where 6 people succumbed to the injuries during treatment.

Out of the total 19 people who died in this accident, 18 are women.
