Today is the third day of ongoing Chhath Puja festival celebrations. Devotees will offer Sandhya Arghya or evening oblations to the setting Sun, at different Chhath Ghats located on banks of river. Large number of devotees will perform the ritual at water bodies, reservoirs and makeshift arrangements on roof of their houses.
The four day festival will culminate tomorrow morning with oblations to rising Sun.
In view of huge turnout of devotees on banks of rivers, elaborate security arrangements have been made for crowd management across Bihar. Plying of private boats have been banned till the end of puja. Personnel of the NDRF and SDRF have been deployed with divers to tackle any eventuality. For the safety of devotees during holy dip and oblations, barricades have been put in water at the Chhath ghats.
