Chess: Gukesh to face Caruana, Praggnanandhaa to compete against Hikaru Nakamura at FIDE Candidates 2024 Tournament

In Chess, the Indian challenge at the FIDE Candidates 2024 Tournament will continue today with the 11th-round action starting at 12 AM in Toronto, Canada. India’s D. Gukesh will face the American GM Fabiano Caruana, R. Praggnanandhaa to compete against Hikaru Nakamura while Vidit Gujrathi will go up against the tournament’s joint leader Ian Nepomniachtchi.

Earlier in round 10, India’s D. Gukesh stayed on top of the leaderboards after playing out a draw against the joint leader Ian Nepomniachtchi. With just four games left in the event, 18-year-old Praggnanandhaa is just half a point behind the tournament leaders. The American duo of Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana are also with Praggnanandhaa, which means five people are still in contention to win the open section.
