An inter-ministerial team led by Joint Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs Dr. Rajesh Gupta, concluded its two-day assessment of damages caused by Cyclone Fengal in Puducherry and returned today. At the end of the inspection, the team convened a meeting with Chief Secretary Sarath Chauhan, District collector A. Kulothungan, and other senior officials. A detailed presentation featuring 60 images of the cyclone’s impact was showcased during the session. The team sought clarifications on several images, which were addressed by the officials. Acknowledging the significant damage suffered by Puducherry, the Central Team assured that a comprehensive report would soon be submitted to the Union Government.
As part of their field visits today, the team assessed damages in several villages of the Mannadipet constituency, including Santhai Pudukuppam, Mannadipet, Lingareddypalayam, Suthukeni, and Katterikuppam. Puducherry Home Minister A. Namassivayam also accompanied the team.
