In Ladakh, CEC LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan, DC Kargil Shrikant Balasahab Suse, SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Chowdhary and all rank officers Paid homage to the martyr constable Mohd Raza, No. 1461 of Ladakh UTDRF Unit Kargil who gave supreme sacrifice while conducting a rescue operation at Drass River near Kaksar bridge during the accident of a private vehicle on 22-07-2023 which had slipped into gorge of the river. They Paid floral tributes to the martyr constable and Guard of Honour was also honoured and homage to the martyr constable. The Last rites of Martyr Mohd Raza was held at his native Graveyard at Karkitchoo Village.
The martyr police personnel received a severe head and back injury during rescue operation and were immediately shifted to District Hospital Kargil where doctors after examination referred him to SKIMS Soura Srinagar for further treatment and finally Mohd Raza could not make it and succumbed to his injuries on 02-08-2023 at SKIMS Soura Srinagar.
While expressing his sympathies, Feroz Ahmad Khan condoled the demise of CT Mohd Raza who sacrificed his life in the line of duty and prayed for granting strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss.
He requested LG Ladakh to recognise this supreme sacrifice & nominate him for gallantry award besides sanctioning financial support for his family. It is Pertinent to mention here that Constable Mohd Raza was the lead rescuer of UTDRF Kargil Unit who has participated in many important rescue operations and more than 5 rescue operations in Drass and Suru River within the last 3 months.
