Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has concluded his successful visit to Australia. The Defence Ministry said in a statement that the visit underscored the growing engagement between the two nations under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The ministry emphasised shared commitment towards regional security and military collaboration between both nations.
The Defence Ministry said, during the visit, CDS held high-level discussions with Australia’s Chief of Defence Force, Admiral David Johnston, and with the Chiefs of Staff Committee. The CDS also paid tributes at the Australian War Memorial and laid a wreath in honour of the fallen Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Gallipoli campaign.
The ministry added this visit solidified the India-Australia defence partnership, enhancing mutual trust and understanding while reinforcing the growing convergence of strategic interests between the two nations.
