Cargo train carrying essential goods expected to arrive at Khongsang Railway Station in Manipur on Monday

A cargo train carrying rice and other essential items is expected to arrive at Khongsang Railway Station located in Tamenglong district, Manipur on Monday. During his visit to Manipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had announced that essential items will be provided to the violence-affected state through railways. He instructed the concerned authority to construct the required facilities at Khongsang Railway Station.
 
The twelve-bogies train left New Guwahati NF Railway Station of Assam this morning. It is carrying rice, onions, potatoes and other items. The train will arrive at Jiribam Railway Station tomorrow morning, and proceed further for Khongsang Railway Station. Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh is expected to visit Khongsang Railway Statio to witness the arrival of the cargo train.
 
Meanwhile, construction of fabricated houses for displaced families by mid August this year has been going on in full swing in several districts of Manipur. Superintendent of Engineers of Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited, P. Brojendro said about 3,000 houses will be constructed in various locations of four valley districts. Around two hundred families will be accommodated in each site. He said toilets will be attached to each room and other necessary facilities, including power, water will be provided to the site.
