In Canada Open Badminton, PV Sindhu, B Sai Praneeth, and Lakshya Sen will play their respective singles matches in Calgary tonight. While Sindhu will take on native player Talia NG, Praneeth will be up against Coelho Ygor of Brazil and Lakshya plays Vitidsarn Kunlavut of Thailand. Ruthvika Shivani Gadde will also play her singles match tonight.
 
Meanwhile, the duo of V. G. Panjala and K. P. Garaga defeated Z. Chen and C. Lu 21-14, 21-16, to enter the second round. However, Swetaparna Panda and R. Panda lost their women's doubles first-round match.
