The Election campaigning has come to a halt in all 17 Lok Sabha Constituencies in Telangana. Addressing the media conference in Hyderabad, Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj said the poll teams will start leaving from tomorrow morning. According to him, he said the mock polling will commence at 5.30 AM and the polling will be held from 7AM to 6 PM except in the 13 left wing extremism-affected areas. About 4 lakh personnel including 160 companies of Central Armed Forces have been put on poll duty. Over 3 crore 32 lakh electors will exercise their franchise at 35 thousand 809 polling stations and 453 auxiliary polling stations across the state. Out of them, about 9 thousand 900 polling stations have been identified as critical ones and 12 thousand micro-observers have been deployed while webcasting and videography will be done in all polling stations.
The CEO said over 320 crore rupees worth cash and freebies have been seized in the state ever since the election schedule was released.
Stating that all basic amenities like drinking water, toilets, shade and medical facilities are arranged in almost all polling stations, the CEO appealed to the electors to check the order of candidates on Ballot units, which also will be displayed before entering the polling stations, as there are more than one ballot unit in most of the constituencies.
Meanwhile, over 20 thousand voters cast their vote from home across the state.
