CAA will give citizenship to refugees from Pak, Afghanistan, Bangladesh but not harm anyone’s citizenship interests: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister and BJP Senior leader Amit Shah has said the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will give citizenship to refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh but not harm anyone’s citizenship interests. Mr Shah said this while addressing party Social Media volunteers and chairmen of the party booth level committees, at different events in Hyderabad this afternoon. Mr Shah alleged at both the events that the Congress party always opposed the CAA due to its appeasement and vote bank politics. By granting citizenship to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs and others, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honoured them. The home minister noted that crores of people from Pakistan and Bangladesh had come to the country to protect their faith and honour and they were granted citizenship.

He asked the party cadres to reach out to the people of Telangana and explain how Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfilled all his assurances. He asked them to explain to the people about the abolition of Article 370, construction of the Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya, 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state Assemblies, abolition of instant triple talaq and the country emerging as the fastest growing economy as some of the achievements of the central government. He further said the Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi BRS and Majlis in Telangana are the same and all three are involved in family rule, appeasement politics and scams. He asked the party cadres not to take rest till a victory rally is taken out in the state. He asked party leaders and cadres to work hard to ensure maximum number of seats from Telangana.
