Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who is leading a Parliamentary delegation to the 149th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), arrived in Geneva last night. In a social media post, Mr. Birla said that during his visit he will address the assembly on the theme “Harnessing science, technology and innovation for a more peaceful and sustainable future”. The assembly will continue till the 17th of this month. Mr Birla will participate in the meetings of the IPU’s Governing council and will meet the Indian Diaspora in Geneva today. MP Government’s Cabinet Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah gave away this national award.The award is given every year to the eminent artist by Directorate of Culture, Madhya Pradesh Government from 1997.

The director of public health Dr. T.S.Selvavinayagam said that the staff at these desks will provide quick responses, accurate information and help patients resolve problems. Doctors and staff at PHCs have been directed to enhance operational efficiency , offer a better environment for patients and digitise patient records. Dr. Selva vinayagam has asked district health officials to set up a May I help You counter at all health centres. PHC will also have digital display screens for queue management, health awareness and other announcements. The aim is to ensure patients are comfortable. The Met department has predicted rains from today to 17th of this month. Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued to the Northern coastal districts of the State on the 15th and the 16th. Fishermen have been strictly warned not to venture into the seas for the next five days due to the prevalence of a low pressure which is likely to be formed in the Bay of Bengal today evening. With the advent of the North East Monsoon this week, the State is to receive widespread rains this week. The State Government has geared up for this monsoon season with the announcement of a helpline 1913 which will function round the clock. The Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi said that Tamilnadu Alert App will disseminate weather alerts for the people to ensure safety. 13 thousand volunteers are ready to take up the assistance for relief and restoration work to help the people.

दिल्ली एनसीआर के गुरुग्राम में सरस मेले की शुरुआत हो गयी है। 17 दिवसीय सरस मेले में क़रीब 30 राज्यों की 900 से ज़्यादा ग्रामीण महिला हस्तशिल्पी भाग ले रही हैं। यह कार्यक्रम केंद्रीय ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय और हरियाणा सरकार के सहयोग से आयोजित किया जा रहा है जिसमें महिला स्वयं सहायता समूहों के क्षमता निर्माण पर ज़ोर दिया जा रहा है।

दिल्ली सरकार ने बताया कि राजधानी में पिछले दो साल से लगातार जनवरी से अक्टूबर तक प्रदूषण के स्तर में गिरावट दर्ज की गई है। एक प्रेस वार्ता में दिल्ली के पर्यावरण मंत्री गोपाल राय ने सूचित किया कि पिछले दो साल से इस अवधि में 200 से अधिक प्रदूषण स्तर के अच्छे दिन दर्ज किए गए हैं। श्री राय ने बताया कि केन्द्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड के अनुसार इस बार दशहरा के अगले दिन भी दिल्ली की हवा साफ रही। उन्होंने कहा कि आमतौर पर इस दिन दिल्ली का प्रदूषण स्तर खराब श्रेणी में होता है, लेकिन इस बार बारिश नहीं होने के बावजूद भी हवा स्वच्छ रही।
इसके अलावा श्री राय ने जोर देते हुए कहा कि कल से अगर राजधानी में कोई धूल प्रदूषण फैलाता मिलता है तो उसके खिलाफ एंटी डस्ट कैंपेन के तहत सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

Addressing media persons in Bengaluru last week, he cited the example of safety standards in cars. He explained that social media and online relationships have led to isolation and loneliness. In several instances it has taken a toll on self esteem. The influence of the digital world has changed the way we relate to each other. It has hindered interpersonal communication and the urge to build good relationships. The parents have no experience of dealing with their children influenced by social media. He expressed interest in US-India collaboration in the area of Mental health care. He pointed at the Tele Manas programme of NIMHANS in India and hoped that both the countries could extend research cooperation in this area and to make mental healthcare accessible, acceptable and affordable to all.

रविवार को मुंबई की एक हॉलिडे कोर्ट ने मामले में दो आरोपियों को 21 अक्टूबर तक पुलिस हिरासत में भेज दिया। मुंबई पुलिस की क्राइम ब्रांच ने आगे कहा है कि उन्होंने मामले के सिलसिले में तीसरे आरोपी की पहचान कर ली है और उसे जल्द ही गिरफ्तार कर लिया जाएगा। एक अन्य आरोपी प्रवीण लोनकर को पुणे से गिरफ्तार किया गया है। संदिग्धों, हरियाणा के गुरमेल सिंह और उत्तर प्रदेश के धर्मराज कश्यप को पुलिस ने शनिवार को गिरफ्तार कर लिया।

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest forecast revealed that the winter this year is likely to be severe for the state due to various reasons including possible La Nina conditions. The recurring La Nina phenomenon, characterised by cooler-than-normal ocean temperatures in the central and eastern Pacific, often results in colder winters in parts of India, including Telangana. This year’s forecast suggests another challenging winter ahead. The IMD warns that the impact of La Nina could extend beyond low temperatures, with higher chances of fog during the mornings, potentially disrupting visibility.

लाला हरदयाल प्रसिद्ध क्रांतिकारी थे। लाला हरदयाल जी ने ‘ग़दर पार्टी’ की स्थापना की थी। विदेशों में भटकते हुए अनेक कष्ट सहकर लाला हरदयाल जी ने देशभक्तों को भारत की आज़ादी के लिए प्रेरित व प्रोत्साहित किया। लाला हरदयाल जी ने दिल्ली और लाहौर में उच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त की। देशभक्ति की भावना उनके अन्दर छात्र जीवन से ही भरी थी। मास्टर अमीर चन्द, भाई बाल मुकुन्द आदि के साथ उन्होंने दिल्ली में भी युवकों के एक दल का गठन किया था। लाहौर में उनके दल में लाला लाजपत राय जैसे युवक सम्मिलित थे। एम. ए. की परीक्षा में सम्मानपूर्ण स्थान पाने के कारण उन्हें पंजाब सरकार की छात्रवृत्ति मिली और वे अध्ययन के लिए लंदन चले गए। वापस आकर वो ‘पंजाब’ नामक अंग्रेज़ी पत्र के सम्पादक बन गए। उनका प्रभाव बढ़ता देखकर सरकारी हल्कों में जब उनकी गिरफ़्तारी की चर्चा होने लगी तो लाला लाजपत राय ने आग्रह करके उन्हें विदेश भेज दिया। 1910 ई. में हरदयाल सेनफ़्राँसिस्को, अमेरिका पहुँचे। वहाँ उन्होंने भारत से गए मज़दूरों को संगठित किया। ‘ग़दर’ नामक पत्र निकाला। प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध आरम्भ होने पर लाला हरदयाल ने भारत में सशस्त्र क्रान्ति को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए क़दम उठाए। हरदयाल ने भारत का पक्ष प्रचार करने के लिए स्विट्ज़रलैण्ड, तुर्की आदि देशों की भी यात्रा की। जर्मनी में उन्हें कुछ समय तक नज़रबन्द कर लिया गया था। वहाँ से वे स्वीडन चले गए, जहाँ उन्होंने अपने जीवन के 15 वर्ष बिताए। 4 मार्च, 1939 ई. को कुर्सी पर बैठा-बैठा विदेश में ही सदा के लिए पंचतत्त्व में विलीन हो गया।

निखिल रंजन बैनर्जी 20वीं सदी में भारत के प्रमुख सितार वादकों में से एक थे। निखिल बैनर्जी का जन्म 14 अक्टूबर, 1931 में पश्चिम बंगाल राज्य के एक ब्राह्मण घराने में हुआ था। निखिल रंजन बैनर्जी को सितार बजाना इनके पिता जितेन्द्रनाथ बैनर्जी ने सिखाया। सितार बजाने की उनमें बचपन से ही विलक्षण प्रतिभा थी। निखिल रंजन बैनर्जी ने नौ साल की उम्र में अखिल भारतीय सितार प्रतियोगिता जीती और जल्द ही ऑल इंडिया रेडियो पर सितार बजाने लगे। शुरुआती प्रशिक्षण के लिए जितेन्द्रनाथ के अनुरोध पर मुश्ताक़ अली ख़ाँ ने निखिल बैनर्जी को अपना शिष्य बनाया। निखिल बैनर्जी उस्ताद अलाउद्दीन ख़ाँ से शिक्षा प्राप्त करना चाहते थे, लेकिन अलाउद्दीन ख़ाँ और शिष्य नहीं चाहते थे। अन्त में रेडियो पर निखिल बैनर्जी का सितार वादन सुनने पर अलाउद्दीन ख़ाँ ने अपना निर्णय बदला। मुख्यत: निखिल बैनर्जी उस्ताद अलाउद्दीन ख़ाँ के शिष्य थे, लेकिन उन्होंने अली अकबर ख़ाँ से भी शिक्षा प्राप्त की। निखिल रंजन बैनर्जी को 1987 में भारत सरकार ने कला के क्षेत्र में पद्म भूषण, 1968 में पद्म श्री और 1974 में संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया था।

बीरेन्द्र कुमार भट्टाचार्य असमिया साहित्यकार थे। इनके द्वारा रचित उपन्यास ‘इयारुइंगम’ के लिये उन्हें 1961 में ‘साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार’ (असमिया) से सम्मानित किया गया था। 1979 में उन्हें ‘ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित किया गया। समाजवादी विचारों से प्रेरित बीरेन्द्र कुमार भट्टाचार्य कहानीकार, कवि, निबंधकार और पत्रकार थे। वे साहित्य अकादमी, दिल्ली और असम साहित्य सभा के अध्यक्ष भी रहे।

सेकेंड लेफ़्टिनेंट अरुण खेत्रपाल परमवीर चक्र से सम्मानित भारतीय थे। उन्हें यह सम्मान सन 1971 में मरणोपरांत मिला। 1971 में हुआ भारत-पाकिस्तान युद्ध, जिसमें बांग्लादेश पाकिस्तान से छूटकर एक स्वतंत्र देश की तरह जन्मा, भारत के इतिहास में ही नहीं बल्कि पूरी दुनिया के इतिहास में एक महत्त्वपूर्ण स्थान रखता है। यह युद्ध 17 दिसम्बर, 1971 तक चला। इसमें पाकिस्तान ने मुहँ की खाई। वह न केवल हार गया, बल्कि उससे टूट कर उसका राज्य पूर्वी पाकिस्तान एक स्वतंत्र राष्ट्र के रूप में जन्मा, जो बांग्लादेश कहलाया। इस युद्ध में अनेक वीरों ने अपने प्राणों की कुर्बानी दी। सेकेंड लेफ़्टिनेंट अरुण खेत्रपाल उन्हीं में से एक हैं।

Khan Bahadur Ardeshir Irani (5 December 1886 – 14 October 1969) was a writer, director, producer, actor, film distributor, film showman and cinematographer in the silent and sound eras of early Indian cinema. He is considered one of the greatest personalities in recent Indian Cinema. He was the director of India’s first sound film Alam Ara.
He was the producer of India’s first colour film Kisan Kanya. He was renowned for making films Hindi, Telugu, English, German, Indonesian, Persian, Urdu and Tamil.
He was a successful entrepreneur who owned film theatres, gramophone agency, and a car agency.
Irani made one hundred fifty-eight films in a long and illustrious career of twenty-five years, between the First and Second World Wars. He made his last film, Pujari, in 1945. Irani was not compelled to live like Dadasaheb Phalke for he realised that the war was a time not suitable for the film business and therefore he suspended his film business during that time. He died on 14 October 1969 at the age of eighty-two, in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

उस्ताद शाहिद परवेज़ खान इमदादखानी घराने से एक भारतीय शास्त्रीय सितार वादक हैं । वे इटावा घराने की सातवीं पीढ़ी के प्रमुख वादक हैं। उन्हें विशेष रूप से उनके गायन के वाक्यांशों और राग के आशुरचनाओं की गुणवत्ता के लिए सराहा जाता है, जिसे “गायक अंग” के रूप में जाना जाता है। इसका अनुवाद “गायन शाखा/अंग” होता है (“शाखा” और “अंग” यहाँ संगीत शैली को संदर्भित करते हैं)। सितार के दिग्गज, उस्ताद विलायत खान ने भारत और विदेशों में व्यापक रूप से स्वीकृत सितार शैली के रूप में गायकी अंग को पुनर्जीवित और फिर से पेश किया, और उनके भतीजे, उस्ताद शाहिद परवेज़ खान ने इस मशाल को वर्तमान समय में आगे बढ़ाया है।
