Niny Coal block tenders of Singareni have become a focal point of debate in the State. As it has triggered a controversy over the Coal block tenders, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has cancelled the tenders process to avoid criticism of opposition parties. The government of India has sent a two member experts to study the issue. More from our correspondent;
“Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Kishan Reddy who visited the Singareni colleries recently, has assured that the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) will be protected and necessary reforms will be implemented. He stated that the central government is willing to make changes in the rules and regulations to support the company. During his visit to Khammam, Reddy reviewed the company’s progress and interacted with SCCL officials, contractors, and union representatives. He emphasized the need for reforms in SCCL and suggested measures to reduce costs. The minister also announced that the central government is willing to conduct geological surveys to explore new coal deposits and establish new projects. He assured that the central government will provide full support to SCCL and work with the state government to protect the company’s interests. The Minister met with MLAs, MPs, and union representatives during his visit, discussing various issues related to SCCL, including pending payments and worker welfare measures. “Snowfall ranging from three inches to nearly one and a half feet has been recorded at different locations across the district. According to the Meteorological Centre Leh, light to moderate snowfall is likely at many places in Kargil district and at scattered places in Leh district, mainly over higher reaches, on 27th January. The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy from 28th to 31st January, while partly cloudy conditions are forecast from 1st to 5th February. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of heavy snowfall over the Zojila-Drass axis today, with a high risk of snow avalanches along the Drass-Zojila-Sonamarg stretch. Meanwhile, the District Administration Kargil has put all its machinery on alert and has started snow clearance operations in and around Kargil town and major roads to ensure smooth movement. A 24×7 emergency helpline has also been activated, and people have been advised to stay updated on weather and road conditions and plan their travel accordingly. Nagaland has taken a significant leap into the future of technology with the launch of its first-ever Drone School and Drone Centre of Excellence. The state-of-the-art facility was formally inaugurated yesterday at the Nagaland GIS and Remote Sensing Centre in Kohima by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, as part of the 77th Republic Day celebrations. “The pioneering initiative, implemented by the Nagaland Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing Centre under the Planning and Transformation Department, aims to equip youth with advanced drone technology skills while promoting innovation-driven employment across the state The Drone School will offer DGCA-compliant Remote Pilot Certificate courses, along with short-term non-DGCA programmes in First person view flying, drone repair and maintenance, drone data analysis and mapping. The first batch of 50 trainees, sponsored by the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission has commenced training from today. Trainees will receive free training across multiple specialisations, along with placement assistance and industry linkages. The institution is equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, simulators, assembly workshops, and designated flying grounds at Tsiesema and Thizama, under Kohima district. In addition, the facility will function as a Centre of Excellence for UAV research, innovation, and technical support to various government departments. The project has been allocated over 2 crore rupees under the State Plan for the Financial Year 2025-26. “Arunachal Vikas Parishad president Techi Gubin, who was named for the Padma Shri award in recognition of his distinguished contribution to social service, said working for betterment of others brings him joy. Gubin is among 54 recipients named for the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award. He is among 10 eminent personalities from the North East selected for the coveted civilian honour this year. Assam leads with five awardees while there was one recipient each from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya. Gubin retired as the chief architect of Arunachal Pradesh in 2024 and had also served as the director of housing in the state government. He hails from Kebi village in Keyi Panyor district. Besides serving as the president of the Arunachal Vikas Parishad, the 62-year-old is the national vice president of RSS-affiliate Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. The social worker, said the announcement came as a surprise, and that he had not expected the honour. Expressing gratitude, he thanked the union government, the state government and the people of Arunachal. He added that he has been engaged in social work since childhood, and does not work for money. Ambedkar, the chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constitution of India and Dalit icon. In 1956, both Savita and Bhimrao converted from Hinduism to Buddhism. Savita Ambedkar helped her husband by caring for his health. B. R. Ambedkar credited her for this in the preface of his book The Buddha and His Dhamma. Ramabai Ambedkar, B. R. Ambedkar’s first wife had died in 1935.

आज पुण्यतिथि है साहित्यकार कमलेश्वर की। उनका जन्म- 6 जनवरी, 1932 को मैनपुरी, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था। ( मृत्यु- 27 जनवरी, 2007) वे बीसवीं शती के सबसे सशक्त लेखकों में से एक हैं। कहानी, उपन्यास, पत्रकारिता, स्तंभ लेखन, फ़िल्म पटकथा जैसी अनेक विधाओं में उन्होंने अपनी लेखन प्रतिभा का परिचय दिया। 2005 में उन्हें ‘पद्मभूषण’ अलंकरण से राष्ट्रपति महोदय ने विभूषित किया।
He was awarded the 2003 Sahitya Akademi Award for his Hindi novel Kitne Pakistan (translated in English as Partitions), and the Padma Bhushan in 2005.
He is considered a part of the league of Hindi writers like Mohan Rakesh, Nirmal Verma, Rajendra Yadav and Bhisham Sahni, who left the old pre-independence literary preoccupations and presented the new sensibilities that reflected new moorings of a post-independence India, thus launching the Hindi literature’s Nayi Kahani (“New Story”) movement in the 1950s.
