Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said the government is actively strengthening the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the education sector. Addressing the Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026 in the national capital, he noted that work on AI in India’s education ecosystem is advancing at a rapid pace and that the country possesses a strong and abundant talent pool.
श्री प्रधान ने कहा कि कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता को भारत की शिक्षा प्रणाली में कक्षा 3 से लेकर उन्नत अनुसंधान स्तर तक न केवल अध्ययन के विषय के रूप में, बल्कि अनुसंधान के विषय, नवाचार के मॉडल और संचार रणनीति के रूप में भी शामिल किया जाएगा।
Mr. Pradhan stated that within the next five years, AI is expected to evolve into a 15 trillion dollar segment of the global economy. On this occasion, he also underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of positioning India as a global leader in Artificial Intelligence. Highlighting the importance of ethical AI development, the Minister stressed that AI systems must be designed to be inclusive and interoperable.

The Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026 marks the first national convening of India’s AI-in-Education ecosystem and serves as the starting point for the Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Education. The conclave will engage solutions across four priority verticals-AI for School Education, AI for Higher Education, AI for Skilling and Workforce Readiness, and AI Research and Deep Technology.

On any ordinary morning, India’s courts reveal a busy rhythm: files moving, cause lists being called, lawyers navigating packed corridors and litigants waiting for brief hearings. For decades, this system has managed rising caseloads, linguistic diversity, and the tension between access and procedural rigour. Recently, digital transformation is modernising the judiciary through a co-ordinated push.

Within the broader lens of digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has begun to play a careful – calibrated role. Supported by the Government, the Supreme Court, High Courts, National Informatics Centre (NIC) and institutions such as IIT Madras, AI tools are now assisting various functions such as:

Translation of judgments,
Identification of defects in e-filing,
Legal research, and
Metadata extraction.

The integration of AI into India’s judiciary is part of a steady and deliberate digital transformation, not a sudden technological leap. Over the past decade, courts have moved from basic computerisation to nationwide digital platforms, real-time data systems, virtual courts and multilingual judgment access. The initial steps toward digitisation began with the launch of the e-Courts Mission Mode Project in 2007, which focused on:
- Computerising court records so that case files could be stored, retrieved, and managed digitally.
- Digitising cause lists to allow daily case schedules to be published and updated online in real time.
- Enabling electronic Case Information Systems (CIS) to give courts a unified platform for tracking case progress and administrative actions.

AI is already operational in the judiciary, used selectively and with institutional supervision in defined administrative and support areas. These deployments are either fully operational or in controlled pilot stages.
At the end of a long cause list, a judge still pauses, listens, weighs facts and applies the law. That moment has not changed. What has changed is everything around it, the time taken to find precedents, the effort required to sift records, the delay caused by language and logistics.

The government has issued detailed guidelines on the observance of India’s National Song, Vande Mataram, directing that all six stanzas of the official version must be rendered first whenever the National Song and the National Anthem are performed together. According to the Union Home Ministry, the full six-stanza version is to be sung or played on key state occasions such as the arrival of the President, the unfurling of the National Flag, and addresses by Governors, among other formal events.
“Under these directions, the official version of the National Song shall be played on the occasion of Civil Investitures, upon arrival and departure of the President and Governor at formal State functions and other functions organised by the Government. The song must also be played immediately before and after the President addresses the Nation over All India Radio-Akashvani and Television, and when the National Flag is brought on parade. The first edition of the Puducherry Film Festival gets underway today, bringing four days of cinematic celebration to the Union Territory. A total of 46 films will be showcased under the Indian Panorama, International, Children’s Film and Documentary sections.
Over the next four days, the tranquil coastal town of Puducherry will transform into a vibrant hub of quality cinema. From nationally acclaimed films to carefully curated international selections, cinelovers will have the opportunity to experience diverse storytelling and rich cinematic traditions. Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy will attend the grand inaugural ceremony to be held today evening at Beach Road. The occasion will also witness the presentation of the prestigious Sankaradas Swamigal Awards for 2024 and 2025. Director Karthik Subbaraj will receive the 2024 award for his film “Jigarthanda Double X,” while Director Dinesh Selvaraj will be honoured with the 2025 award for “Kadalkanni.” The inaugural ceremony will be followed with the screening of “Natchathiram Nagargirathu,” directed by Pa. Deaths: Charles Monroe “Sparky” Schulz (/ʃʌlz/ SHULZ; November 26, 1922 – February 12, 2000) passed away on this day in 2000. He was an American cartoonist who created the comic strip Peanuts, featuring the characters Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
Schulz was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and developed an interest in drawing while growing up in Saint Paul. He was conscripted in 1943 and served in the United States Army during the final years of World War II. After returning to Minnesota, Schulz began his comic strip career with Li’l Folks in 1947.
In 1950, Schulz redeveloped Li’l Folks as a four-panel comic strip and submitted it to United Features Syndicate, who renamed it Peanuts and began publishing that October. Schulz relocated to Northern California with his family in 1958. Beginning with A Charlie Brown Christmas in 1965, he helped write several animated television specials and four animated films based on his characters. He continued drawing Peanuts until his death in 2000.
