   Swachhata Pakhwada and World Bamboo Day.

 

 

 Swachhata Pakhwada is an annual, fortnight-long campaign under the Swachh Bharat Mission that promotes cleanliness and hygiene across India. The year 2025 would be the 10th consecutive year of Swachhata' Pakhwada implementation, the campaign involved various government ministries and departments, such as the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Heavy Industries and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and others. They are organizing cleanliness drives, pledge ceremonies, and community awareness programs within their premises and surrounding areas...

 

 

In Delhi Akashvani today organized Swachhata Pledge as part of the on-going Seva Pakhwada. Director General of Akashvani, Rajeev Kumar Jain administered swachhata pledge to the officers and staff of Akashvani. He appealed to them to  devote 100 hours per year, to voluntarily work for cleanliness. In the pledge it was emphasized to neither litter nor let others litter, while encouraging other persons to take this pledge for ensuring cleanliness.

 

 

And also Ministry of Tribal Affairs is also observing Swachhata Pakhwada from yesterday to 2nd of October with a pledge and a series of cleanliness activities across the country. The campaign aligns with the nationwide movement Swachhata Hi Seva 2025, and culminating on Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October.

 

 

नई दिल्ली स्थित शास्त्री भवन और जीवन तारा भवन में एक विशेष स्वच्छता अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। यह प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के स्वच्छ, हरित और स्वस्थ भारत के प्रति मंत्रालय की प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाता है। आदि कर्मयोगी अभियान के अंतर्गत आदि सेवा पर्व (17 सितंबर - 2 अक्टूबर 2025) के अंतर्गत, देश भर के सभी आदिवासी बहुल गाँवों में स्वच्छता ही सेवा 2025 भी आयोजित किया जाएगा। देश भर के 470 से अधिक एकलव्य आदर्श आवासीय विद्यालयों में स्वच्छता और पर्यावरण-अनुकूल प्रथाओं के बारे में जागरूक करने के लिए छात्र-नेतृत्व वाली प्रतियोगिताएँ, वाद-विवाद और रचनात्मक गतिविधियाँ आयोजित की जा रही हैं।

 

 

Tribal-dominated villages also leading awareness campaigns and encouraging households to join the nationwide call of “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” on 25th September 2025. On the initiative of the Ministry Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri JualOram said “Cleanliness is a shared responsibility. By involving Eklavya Model Residential Schools students, Tribal Research Institute and tribal communities, we are nurturing a culture of dignity and health that aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.” The Ministry calls upon all tribal communities, institutions, and citizens to join the campaign and make cleanliness a way of life - a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and a step towards Viksit Bharat@2047.

 

 

भारत सरकार के स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के एक भाग के रूप में, भारतीय भूवैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण ने "स्वच्छता ही सेवा" अभियान के अंतर्गत कई पहल शुरू की हैं। इस वर्ष की थीम "स्वच्छोत्सव" के अनुरूप, जो स्वच्छ और हरित उत्सवों और शून्य-अपशिष्ट सामुदायिक समारोहों पर केंद्रित है, जीएसआई के प्रयास स्वच्छता ही सेवा 2025 के पाँच स्तंभों पर केंद्रित होंगे: स्वच्छता लक्ष्य इकाइयों में परिवर्तन, सार्वजनिक स्थलों का कायाकल्प, सफाई मित्रों की सुरक्षा, स्वच्छ हरित उत्सवों को बढ़ावा देना और स्वच्छता के लिए जन-जागरूकता का प्रसार। इन समन्वित प्रयासों के माध्यम से, भारतीय भूवैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण का उद्देश्य सामूहिक उत्तरदायित्व को प्रेरित करना और स्वच्छता को दैनिक जीवन का अभिन्न अंग बनाना है।

 

 

The campaign started yesterday, with a mass Swachhata pledge in all the offices of GSI across India. The launch will also witness plantation drives under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, disposal of scrap and e-waste, as well as the felicitation of Safai Mitras in recognition of their invaluable contribution to society.

 

 

सफाई मित्र सुरक्षा शिविरों के माध्यम से, भारतीय भूवैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण (जीएसआई) निवारक स्वास्थ्य जाँच आयोजित करके, पीपीई किट वितरित करके और उनके स्वास्थ्य और सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सामाजिक कल्याण कार्यक्रमों को सुगम बनाकर सफाई कर्मचारियों के कल्याण को प्राथमिकता देगा। स्वच्छ हरित उत्सव स्तंभ के अनुरूप, जीएसआई अपनी इकाइयों में कचरा मुक्त पूजा, सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर स्वच्छता रंगोली, कचरे से कला में परिवर्तन और त्योहारों के बाद सफाई गतिविधियों को प्रोत्साहित करके पर्यावरण के अनुकूल समारोहों को बढ़ावा देगा।

 

 

The campaign will also emphasize Advocacy for Swachhata, with rallies, human chains, awareness samvads, school competitions, and creative programmes designed to engage youth, students, and communities in spreading the message of Swachhata. On 25th September 2025, GSI will participate in the nationwide initiative “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”. Officers, staff, and local citizens will join hands in a one-hour collective cleanliness drive at multiple locations, demonstrating the power of unity in action. Through these collective efforts, GSI reaffirms its dedication to the Swachh Bharat Mission, embedding cleanliness as a shared social responsibility.

Today is World Bamboo Day. It is observed to raise awareness about bamboo worldwide. Bamboo has been a part of daily life for decades, but it hasn't always been used in an eco-friendly way. The World Bamboo Organisation has been on a mission to make people more aware of bamboo's potential. They aim to encourage the growth of bamboo for new industries globally and support traditional uses in local communities for economic development. Incidentally, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi recently inaugurated India's first bamboo-based bio-refinery at Golaghat district this afternoon.

Through World Bamboo Day, the World Bamboo Organisation (WBO) aims to help people recognise the cultural, economic and environmental significance of this versatile plant. National Award-Winning film, Chalo Jeete Hain is being screened nationwide today across lakhs of schools and nearly 500 cinema halls to mark the 75th Birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is inspired by a childhood incident from the life of Prime Minister Modi. The film tells the story of a young boy - Naru, who is deeply influenced by Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy and strives to make a difference in his small world. Our correspondent across the country spoke to the viewers about the film. First take the people's appriciations on the film from National Capital Delhi;

 

 

 

"Chalo Jeete Hain is directed by Mangesh Hadawale, and presented by Aanand L. Rai and Mahaveer Jain. The short film won the National Award for Best Non-Feature Film on Family Values at the 66th National Film Awards, announced in 2019. The critically acclaimed film was originally released in 2018 and was amongst the most viewed short films of that year.  Talking to Akashvani News, Amit Kumar Singh, who attended the screening of  Chalo Jeete Hai in New Delhi, said, the movie inspired him to work for the welfare of the poor like Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that the film beautifully portrays Prime Minister Modi's childhood efforts to support others.

 

Another viewer, Reema Singh, expressed happiness after watching Chalo Jeete Hai. She said that Prime Minister Modi has always inspired people to live for others. She added that the movie taught her to dedicate one’s life to uplifting others and helping those in need to rise above.

 

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has called the film a cinematic tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy and ideas, with the message of selflessness and service. Odisha made history yesterday by planting 1.5 crore saplings in just 12 hours to mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The massive drive was part of the nationwide campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, which encourages people to dedicate a tree to their mothers as a symbol of love and care for nature.

 

"The plantation drive covered all 30 districts of the state, with active participation from government officials, forest staff, school and college students, voluntary groups, and thousands of citizens. From coastal regions to tribal areas, the state witnessed a wave of greenery. Chief Minister Mohan Charan praised the effort, calling it a reflection of people’s commitment to protect the environment. He said the campaign has turned into a true people’s movement. The emotional theme of the initiative touched many hearts. Environmentalists welcomed the effort as a step towards tackling climate change and deforestation. “This will have a long-term impact on the environment,”

said environmentalist Sudarshan Chottray.

Youth and students played a key role, adding energy to the campaign. Schools organized rallies, while women’s self-help groups led plantation activities in villages. भारत सरकार द्वारा देशभर में बौद्ध धर्म से जुड़े स्थलों को एकीकृत कर ‘बौद्ध टूरिस्ट सर्किट’ के रूप में विकसित किया जा रहा है। इसी दिशा में गुजरात मे भी अपनी ऐतिहासिक धरोहरों को संवारने का काम जोरों से चल रहा है - जहाँ प्राचीन काल से बौद्ध संस्कृति के अमिट निशान मौजूद हैं।

 

 

"गुजरात के वडनगर, जूनागढ़ का ऊपरकोट, गिर-सोमनाथ की स्वर्ण गुफाएं, प्रभास पाटण की बौद्ध गुफाएं और अरावली की पहाड़ियों में स्थित देव-नी-मोरी जैसे स्थल बौद्ध धर्म की हजारों साल पुरानी विरासत को दर्शाते हैं। देव-नी-मोरी, विशेष रूप से ध्यान खींचता है - जहाँ खुदाई में 3-4वीं शताब्दी ईस्वी का बौद्ध स्तूप, ईंटों से बना मठ और बुद्ध के कई अवशेष मिले है। इस प्राचीन विरासत के संरक्षण के लिए और विरासत भी और विकास भी के मंत्र को आगे बढ़ाते हुए  गुजरात सरकार ने केंद्र सरकार के सहयोग से इन स्थलों को पर्यटक अनुकूल बनाने की योजना बनाई है। परियोजना के तहत 12 प्रमुख स्थलों को चिन्हित किया गया है। जहा आंतर्राष्ट्रीय पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने हेतु  आधुनिक सुविधाओ के  निर्माण का काम जोरों से चल रहा है।

 

 

बौद्ध सर्किट के ये प्राचीन स्थल अब सिर्फ इतिहास की कहानियाँ नहीं, बल्कि भारत के लिए सांस्कृतिक सेतु के रूप मे उभर आ रहे है - जो अध्यात्म, पर्यटन और आर्थिक विकास - तीनों को जोड़ते हैं। परिक्रमा के लिए अहमदाबाद से मे अपर्णा खूंट."

आज भारतीय हास्य कवि काका हाथरसी की जयंती है। हास्य और व्यंग्य के क्षेत्र में एक हस्ताक्षर रहे काका हाथरसी जीवन की हर परिस्थिति में हास्य का पुट खोज लेते थे। काका, समाज के कुरीतियों, दोषों और दकियानूसी मान्यताओं और राजनीतिक कुशासनों पर हास्य-व्यंग्य के ज़रिये प्रहार करते हैं। 1946 में काका की पहली पुस्तक 'कचहरी' प्रकाशित हुई। काका ने ख़ुद अपनी दाढ़ी-महिमा का बखान इस तरह किया है:-

Shivaji Sawant passed away on this day in 2002. He  was an Indian novelist and dramatist in the Marathi language. He is known as Mrutyunjaykaar (meaning Author of Mrutyunjay) for writing the famous Marathi novel - Mrutyunjay, his other noted works are Chhava and Yugandhar. He was the first Marathi writer to be awarded with the Moortidevi Award, given by the Bharatiya Jnanpith in 1994. His novel Chhava, published in 1980, is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Chhava was adapted into a 2025 hindi film of the same name directed by Laxman Utekar featuring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role.
