The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is underway in New Delhi. The five day Summit is the first-ever global AI summit to be hosted in the Global South. The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is guided by three foundational pillars, or Sutras, which articulate the core principles guiding global cooperation on AI. These are – People, Planet and Progress. The Summit’s deliberations are organised through Chakras or Working Groups structured around seven interconnected thematic areas. The seven Chakras include Human Capital, Inclusion for Social Empowerment, Safe and Trusted AI, Science, Resilience, Innovation, and Efficiency, Democratizing AI Resources and AI for Economic Development and Social Good.

Over a hundred countries have been invited to the Summit and more than two lakh people have registered online. World leaders from twenty nations are scheduled to attend the event. The Indian Army will highlight its expanding integration of Artificial Intelligence to strengthen sustainment, enhance operational readiness and build future-ready defence capabilities at the AI Impact Summit 2026. Nagaland will join the Country in conducting the second edition of the nationwide campaign “Mediation for the Nation 2.0,” which is set to be launched across the country from March 2026. The nationwide Special Mediation Drive, “Mediation for the Nation,” has been conceptualized by the National Legal Services Authority in association with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee of the Supreme Court of India. The initiative is being carried out under the guidance of Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant.
“Joining with the country, The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) will spearhead the 90-day mediation drive across the state from next month . The initiative aims to settle pending cases through mediation across all District Legal Services Authorities in Nagaland. During the campaign, various categories of cases will be taken up for mediation. These include matrimonial disputes, motor accident claim cases, domestic violence cases, cheque bounce cases, commercial disputes, service matters, compoundable criminal cases, consumer disputes, partition suits, eviction matters, land acquisition cases, and other suitable civil disputes.In the previous edition of the campaign, “Mediation for the Nation 1.0,” conducted in 2025, the NSLSA successfully settled 90 disputes amicably out of 397 cases referred by the District Legal Services Authorities and the High Court Legal Services Committee. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat Mineral Research Industrial Consultancy Society (GMRICS) to foster long-term academic and research collaboration in the areas of geology, mining, mineral exploration, and allied earth sciences.
“The two institutions – Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar and Gujarat Mineral Research Industrial Consultancy Society, a research arm of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC) will establish a strategic partnership in research, education, and training, with emphasis on collaborative research projects, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and skill development in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 during the agreement period spanning five years. As part of the collaboration, Gujarat Mineral Research Industrial Consultancy Society which undertakes advanced research in geology and mining-including mineral reserve assessments, identification of mineral-rich zones, market research, and database development – will facilitate industrial training, internships, field-based research and hands-on exposure for students of IIT Bhubaneswar. Experts from Gujarat Mineral Research Industrial Consultancy Society and its associated centres, such as the International Centre of Excellence in Mining Safety and Automation and the International Centre for Entrepreneurship & Technology, will also deliver specialised lectures, training programmes, and practical demonstrations for students and faculties under the pact. This collaboration between the two institutions is expected to contribute to sustainable mineral development and human resource capacity building in the mining and earth sciences sector. Deaths: Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, passed away on this day in 1944. popularly known as Dadasaheb Phalke, He was an Indian producer, director and screenwriter, widely regarded as “the Father of Indian cinema”. Phalke’s debut film, Raja Harishchandra (1913), was the first Indian motion picture and is recognised as India’s first full-length mythological feature film. The movie’s success marked the beginning of Indian cinema and inspired the growth of the film industry in the country.
