And under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is building an AI ecosystem that’s affordable, inclusive, and world-class. For the first time in our history, AI is not limited to big tech companies. Through the IndiaAI Mission, the government has invested over ₹10,300 crore to build massive computing power for the nation. At the same time, five semiconductor plants are under construction, and India plans to build its own GPU technology, reducing dependence on imports. What’s the use of AI if it doesn’t understand India? That’s why India is developing its own Large Language Models. Platforms like BHASHINI help citizens access digital services in Indian languages using voice. Then there’s BharatGen, the world’s first government-funded multimodal AI model for public services. We also have Sarvam-1, trained for Indian languages, and systems like Hanooman Everest, supporting over 35 Indian languages. This means AI in India is becoming local, inclusive, and truly Indian.
