The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 will be the first global AI summit to be hosted in the Global South. It will be held from 16th to 20th February at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, as a five-day programme covering policy, research, industry, and public engagement.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, held a high-level press conference yesterday ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, chaired by Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the India AI Impact Summit has received a phenomenal response from across the world and is shaping up to be the biggest AI summit so far globally.

 

उन्होंने आगे कहा कि AI इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर लेयर में पहले से ही लगभग 70 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर का निवेश हो रहा है, जिसमें समिट खत्म होने तक दोगुना होने की क्षमता है, और AI इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर और इंडस्ट्री द्वारा तय किए गए करिकुलम को 500 यूनिवर्सिटी तक बढ़ाकर AI टैलेंट डेवलपमेंट को बढ़ाया जाएगा, जिससे इस सेक्टर के लिए एक मजबूत टैलेंट पाइपलाइन बनेगी।

 

 

श्री वैष्णव ने कहा कि यह समिट सात थीम पर आधारित होगी, जिसमें ह्यूमन कैपिटल, सोशल एम्पावरमेंट के लिए समावेश, सुरक्षित और भरोसेमंद AI, लचीलापन, इनोवेशन और दक्षता, AI रिसोर्स का लोकतंत्रीकरण और आर्थिक विकास और सामाजिक भलाई के लिए AI शामिल हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि अब तक 15 राष्ट्राध्यक्षों/सरकार प्रमुखों ने इस कार्यक्रम में अपनी भागीदारी की पुष्टि की है। उन्होंने कहा कि आने वाले समिट में CEO सहित 100 से ज़्यादा वैश्विक नेता भी हिस्सा ले रहे हैं।

 

 

Additionally, it was announced that the Summit week will feature around 500+ curated events across Bharat Mandapam and Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, enabling parallel leader-level dialogues, exhibitions, and outcome-oriented sessions. The AI Impact Expo will host 840+ exhibitors, including Country Pavilions, Ministries, State Governments, Industry, Startups, and Research Institutions, showcasing AI solutions with proven real-world impact. IndiaAI will also demonstrate progress on India’s foundational AI models.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasised on the need to work towards an Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem which is transparent, impartial and secure. He said that there should be no compromise on ethical use of AI. Mr Modi said this while interacting with CEOs and Experts working in the field of AI at his residence earlier this week in New Delhi. The Prime Minister emphasised the need to embrace new technology in all spheres and use it to contribute to national growth. He also urged the use of indigenous technology across key sectors.

The 5th edition of the Rüsoma Orange Festival has begun at Rüsoma Local Ground Village in Kohima. The two-day festival was inaugurated by Advisor, Department of Tribal Affairs and Election, H. Tovihoto Ayemi.

 

 

“Set against the vibrant backdrop of Rüsoma village, the Orange festival is being held under the theme “Abundance of Rüsoma.” The event celebrates the dedication of orange farmers, promotes rural entrepreneurship, and highlights the distinct flavor of Rüsoma’s prized oranges. The festival features cultural performances, interactive games, and lively stalls showcasing local delicacies, varieties of local vegetables, orange saplings, and handmade products. Out of 570 households, 470 families in Rüsoma are actively engaged in orange farming. The village aims to expand orchard coverage to nearly 100 hectares in the next six to seven years. Last year, 4,000 orange saplings were planted, with an anticipated harvest of over 25 lakh fruits in the coming years. The annual income from orange sales stands at 43 lakh rupees with several farmers earning more than 10 lakh rupees  each year. The 39th Surajkund International Self-reliant Crafts Festival began at Surajkund today. The fair with a theme”Local to Global – Atmanirbhar Bharat” was inaugurated by Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan.

 

 

Egypt is the partner country for the fourth time. Apart from this, the rich cultural and folk arts of the theme states of Uttar Pradesh and Meghalaya have been showcased in the Mela premises.

आज ही पुण्यतिथि है, हुस्न-ए-मलिका के नाम से प्रसिद्ध सुरैया जमाल शेख़ की। 40वें और 50वें दशक में हिन्दी फ़िल्मों की एक प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री होने के साथ-साथ बतौर गायिका भी उन्होंने काफी प्रसिद्धि प्राप्त की। कहते हैं, अदाओं में नज़ाकत के साथ-साथ उनकी गायकी में नफ़ासत भी थी। सुरैया भले ही आज हमारे बीच नहीं हैं, लेकिन उनका अभिनय, उनका संगीत हमेशा हम सबको उनकी याद दिलाता रहेगा। उनका गाया गीत ‘वो पास रहें या दूर रहें’ उन पर काफ़ी सटीक बैठता है।
