India has achieved the highest-ever growth in indigenous defence production during the financial year 2023-24 since the launch of the Make in India initiative, reaching a record one lakh 27 thousand crore rupees. The value of defence production has surged 174 per cent increase from 46 thousand 429 crore in 2014-15.
''65 percent of defence equipment is now manufactured domestically, a significant shift from the earlier 65 to 70 percent import dependency. The Defence exports have also surged from 6 hundred 86 crore rupees in 2013-14 to an all-time high of over 21 thousand crore rupees in 2023-24, marking a 30 fold increase over the past decade. This growth has been bolstered by the Make in India initiative, which has enabled the development of advanced military platforms.
The Defence Ministry said, once dependent on foreign suppliers, the country now stands as a rising force in indigenous manufacturing, shaping its military strength through homegrown capabilities. The Ministry said, the government has introduced several measures to improve ease of doing business in the defence manufacturing sector. The Telangana State Assembly has passed a resolution adopting the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act (Central Act 42), 1994 and Rules, 1995, and Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues (Amendment) Act of 2011 (THOTA). State Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha moved the resolution in the Assembly yesterday. The Act regulates the removal, storage, and transplantation of human organs and tissues for therapeutic purposes and prevents commercial dealings. As per the 1995 regulations, only neurosurgeons and neuro-physicians could declare a person brain-dead. As per the new regulations, a physician, surgeon, intensivist, and anaesthetist can also declare the same.
The Act also enables sourcing organs donated in any other state, to be transplanted in Telangana.

आज जन्म दिवस है भारतीय फिल्मों के निर्देशक और निर्माता शिबू मित्रा का। शिबू मित्रा का जन्म 25 मार्च 1948 को कोलकाता में एक बंगाली परिवार में हुआ था। एफटीआईआई पुणे से स्नातक करने के बाद शिबू मित्रा ने अनुभवी निर्देशक बासु चटर्जी के सहायक के रूप में काम किया। उन्होंने उनसे व्यावसायिक फिल्म निर्माण का प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया और जल्द ही अपनी पहली फिल्म बिंदिया और बंदूक का निर्देशन किया। उनमें से सबसे सफल रहीं शंकर दादा, आखिरी गोली, पांच कैदी, इल्जाम, आग ही आग, पाप की दुनिया, इंसाफ मैं करूंगा, मान गए उस्ताद और दुर्गा।
