Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has said that the budget allocated to the New and Renewable Energy Ministry increased by nearly 53 per cent to nearly Rs 26,549 crore this year.
Briefing media in New Delhi, the Minister underscored that the outlay for food grains and distribution is 2 lakh three thousand crores. He highlighted that the estimated Minimum Support Price (MSP) value paid to the farmers for paddy procurement this year is one lakh 72 thousand crores, which is the highest ever. Mr Joshi hailed the budget as progressive and growth-oriented, benefitting the poor and middle class.
