Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the Border Security Force has been working to strengthen the first line of border security of the country for six decades on the strength of courage, valor and sacrifice. Addressing the 60th Foundation Day celebrations of the Border Security Force in Jodhpur today, Mr. Shah said that the BSF has done a tremendous job of securing the eastern and western borders since 1965. The Home Minister said that along with border security, the BSF has worked at various fronts including preventing infiltration, counterfeit notes, left-wing extremism.
He said that it is impossible to meet the increasing security needs of the country without the BSF. This is why the BSF, which started with 25 battalions, is constantly expanding. The Home Minister said that our policy of border security of our country remained blurred for many years, but the Modi government has worked seriously on it. There has been a big change in the security scenario of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the Government of India has paid special attention to strengthening the infrastructure on the border and has made special provision in the budget every year for this.
Mr. Shah said that the government has started the Vibrant Village Scheme for the villages located on the border, so that the citizens of border villages can get respect, employment and all basic facilities. This program has been started on an experimental basis in about 3 thousand villages. He said that the government has continuously taken steps to provide basic facilities to the paramilitary forces and to solve their problems. Earlier, the Home Minister inspected the parade. Mr. Shah also honored the Jawans by conferred them gallantry awards, police service medals for their excellent service.
