In Cricket, India delivered a resounding 295-run victory over Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, in Perth, Australia. This emphatic win marks one of India’s largest Test triumphs.

Key performances by Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, who each claimed three crucial wickets, ensured Australia’s second-innings collapse.  Skipper Bumrah was adjudged as player of the Match.

On the batting front, Virat Kohli’s unbeaten century and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s stellar knock of 161 powered India to set a daunting target of 534 runs for the hosts.

For Australia, Travis Head was the star player as he scored 89 runs. Apart from him, Mitchell Marsh scored 47 while Alex Carey scored 36.  The second Test is scheduled to begin on December 6 at the Adelaide Oval.
