BJP West Bengal Prez Sukanta Majumdar Meets Governor Over Murshidabad Violence, Seeks BSF Deployment

BJP West Bengal President and Union Minister of State for Education Dr Sukanto Majumdar today met Governor Dr C V Ananda Bose at Raj Bhawan in Kolkata over the issue of violence in Murshidabad district last week. Some people from the affected areas were with him. Dr Majumdar submitted a memorandum to the governor.

BJP demanded to depute BSF at the violence-torn areas. It is reported that such camps were instituted after mob vandalism in Murshidabad over the protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025 on 11th and 12th April, but these camps were withdrawn later.

The party has also demanded a permanent state government job for each affected family. The state government ought to look into the matter of rebuilding the houses, shops which were damaged by the unruly public.

Dr Bose assured full support. Meanwhile, the Governor will be visiting the disturbed areas of Murshidabad. He will reach the circuit house tonight and inspect the areas tomorrow morning.
