The BJP has released the first list of 99 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will contest from Nagpur South West assembly seat, while Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule will be the party candidate from Kamthi.
State Minister Girish Mahajan will contest from Jamner while Sudhir Mungantiwar from Ballarpur assembly constituency. Besides, the party has given tickets to Ashish Shelar from Vandre West, Mangal Prabhat Lodha from Malabar Hill, Rahul Narwekar from Colaba, and Sreejaya Ashok Chavan from the Bhokar assembly constituency.
The names of the candidates were approved by the BJP Central Election Committee. Elections to the 288-member Maharashtra will be held in a single phase on the 20th of next month. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
