BJP President JP Nadda released the BJP’s election manifesto for upcoming assembly elections in Odisha on Sunday. Releasing the manifesto, Mr. Nadda elaborated the 21 promises made in the manifesto. The manifesto promised to procure paddy at 3100 rupees per quintal and irrigation of 100 per cent farmland in next 5 years. The party has also promised cash vouchers of 50,000 rupees to women which they can encash in 2 years. It promised to formulate and enact a state-level education policy, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020, within three months of assuming office, ensuring swift progress towards holistic educational reforms. It will also provide legal, medical and engineering courses in Odia. The manifesto promised to develop an industrial corridor connecting Rourkela, Sambalpur, Paradeep and Dhamra by June 2027 to ensure rapid and integrated development by facilitating seamless multi-modal transport services.
Odisha is going for simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections from 13th of May in four phases.
