Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has named 40-star campaigners for the second phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Prominent among them are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The second phase of assembly elections in the union territory will be held on the 25th of this month. Several BJP heavyweights, such as Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Manohar Lal Khattar, G. Kishan Reddy, Jitendra Singh, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, are also among the party’s star campaigners. Elections for the 90-member J&K Assembly will be held in three phases—on September 18, September 25, and October 1. The counting of votes will be taken up on October 8.
