In West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP, has participated in a huge rally towards the health department headquarters, Swasthya Bhawan, at Salt Lake in Kolkata. The rally was led by state BJP president and Union Minister of State for Education, Dr. Sukanto Majumdar. Leader of the opposition, Suvendu Adhikari, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Shamik Bhattacharya, and other leaders and workers were detained by the police.
