BJP today hit out at Congress saying that Constitution cannot be protected by showing copies in Parliament and there should be genuine respect for it. Addressing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Sambit Patra said Congress MPs are trying to appear as protectors of the Constitution. He pointed out that Congress imposed Emergency in 1975 for greed of power. He mentioned the hardships faced during the Emergency, including changes to the Maintenance of Internal Security Act and custodial deaths of 22 persons.
