BJP today came down heavily on the opposition alliance namely I.N.D.I.A, ahead of its meeting in Mumbai alleging that it is a selfish alliance. Briefing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged that this is an alliance of compulsion, not strength. He said such opposition meetings are not new to NDA as similar attempts were made ahead of 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls. He said this kind of alliance was formed earlier as well but by the time the elections came the opposition parties started fighting amongst themselves. Mr. Patra also alleged that parties of I.N.D.I.A alliance are involved in corruption and their agenda is what he called maximum profit from corruption.
The opposition is holding its third meeting in Mumbai to discuss its strategy for the next Lok Sabha polls. The I.N.D.I.A alliance is expected to announce a coordination committee, a logo, and panels to draft a common minimum programme of the alliance.
