BJP today claimed that the Maharashtra Congress has assured the All India Ulama Board (AIUB) of fulfilling its demands including quota for the minority community in jobs if the Maha Vikas Aghadi comes to power in the state. Briefing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said the AIUB has written to Nana Patole extending conditional support to MVA in state assembly polls upon which the Maharashtra Congress chief has reportedly agreed to accept its demands. He added that reservations can not be given based on religion as it is not permissible under the Constitution. Mr Prasad also said one of the demands of AIUB is banning the RSS, which is divisive. He said senior Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi should clarify whether they support the demand to ban it.
