BJP Candidate from the North-East Delhi Lok Sabha Constituency Manoj Tiwari today filed his nomination papers. Before filing his nomination, Mr Tiwari held a road show in the national capital which was joined by senior BJP leader and Union Minister Rajnath Singh, and others. Talking to the media, Mr Singh claimed that BJP will win all seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital.
Mr Tiwari will be facing Congress candidate Kanhaiya Kumar from the North-East Delhi Lok Sabha seat.
BJP East Delhi Candidate Harsh Malhotra also filed his nomination papers this afternoon. AAP has pitted its MLA Kuldeep Kumar against Mr Malhotra from the East Delhi Lok Sabha seat.
Several other candidates of BJP, AAP, and Congress are campaigning in different parts of Delhi to garner the support of voters. All seven seats of Delhi will go to poll during the sixth phase on the 25th of this month. BJP candidate Ramvir Singh Bidhuri who is fighting from the South Delhi constituency campaigned today in New Friends colony while another BJP candidate in the fray from West Delhi, Kamaljeet Sehrawat campaigned in Matiala. Meanwhile, AAP candidate Somnath Bharti interacted with people of Greater Kailash and Mahabal Mishra, AAP candidate from West Delhi held an interaction in the Sagarpur area of Dwarka. INC candidate Jai Prakash Agarwal who is contesting from the Chandni Chowk parliamentary constituency also held an interaction with the people of the area.
Forty-nine nominations were recieved today for all the parliamentary constituencies of Delhi. The last date for filing of nominations in Delhi is the 6th of May. The date for scrutiny of nomination is the 7th of May and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is the 9th of May as per the Gazette Notification. The Polling in NCT of Delhi is to be conducted on the 25th of May.
