The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced the names of three candidates for the upcoming biennial election for Maharashtra Legislative Council.
While the party has renominated Niranjan Davkhare from Konkan Division Graduates’ seat two new candidates namely Kiran Shelar and Shivnath Darade will contest from Mumbai Graduates’ and Mumbai Teachers’ constituency respectively.
The deadline for filing nominations for these three seats along with Nashik Teachers constituency is 7th of June with voting set to take place on 26th. Results will be declared on 1st July. The six year term of existing members is set to end on 7th July.
Earlier, MNS has announced the name of film director Abhijit Panse as its candidate for the Konkan Graduates’ constituency while Shiv Sena (UBT) has announced Anil Parab and J M Abhyankar as its candidates for the Mumbai Graduates and Mumbai Teachers constituencies respectively.
