BJP today accused Congress of violating election norms related to the silence period by releasing its manifesto for Jharkhand assembly polls yesterday. Briefing media in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Sambit Patra said, as per the rules, no political party can campaign and release its manifesto 48 hours before voting, but Congress unveiled its manifesto during this period. He said his party has approached the Election Commission over the issue demanding action against the Congress in this regard. Mr. Patra alleged that the Congress party and its leader Rahul Gandhi have no respect for the Constitution and do not take the Election Commission seriously.
