Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President and leader of opposition in the Odisha Assembly, Naveen Patnaik, has said Odisha has completely been neglected in the Union Budget 2024-2025. In his reaction to the Union Budget, the BJD President said the BJP had promised special category status to Odisha in its Assembly elections manifesto and the same has not been kept even after BJP came to power in Odisha. He also said Bihar and Andhra Pradesh have been given thousands of crores of rupees in the name of special packages, while Odisha, which is always facing natural calamities, has not been given anything to counter such calamities.

The BJD has decided to protest the injustice made to Odisha in the Union Budget throughout the state.
