Bihar to host Men’s Hockey Hero Asia Cup 2025

Bihar will host Men’s Hockey Hero Asia Cup 2025 with support of Hockey India. This will be the 12th Edition of Asia Cup. A MoU was signed on Monday at Patna between Hockey India and Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA) to handover the baton of host. The event will be organised between 29th August to 7th September 2025. A total of eight teams including top hockey-playing countries of Asia like South Korea, India and Pakistan, will play in the tournament. Secretary General of Hockey India Bholanath Singh and Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar Sports Department B. Rajender signed the memorandum of understanding at a programme at Patliputra Sports Complex in Kankarbagh. President of Hockey India Dilip Tirkey, Indian Men’s Hockey India team captain Harmanpreet Singh, Vice Captain Hardik Singh, Hockey India Treasurer SJ Manoharan and DG of Bihar State Sports Authority Ravindran Shankaran were also present on the occasion.


DG of BSSA Mr Shankaran said it will be a great occasion that Bihar is going to host such a prestigious competition.

He said as a host it is estimated around 20,000 spectators will come to enjoy this upcoming sports extravaganza in Bihar.

President of Hockey India Dr. Dilip Tirkey praised the spirit of Bihar government and Bihar State Sports Authority for support to organising big events. Secretary General Bholanath Singh said ultimately, Bihar is going to get benefits of such big tournaments as it will set up sports infrastructure in the state.

Indian Hockey Team captain Harmanpreet Singh expressed his enthusiasm to play at the newly built state of the art Rajgir International Stadium.
