In Bihar, the nomination papers of 54 candidates were found valid for the third phase of parliamentary elections in Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura and Khagaria Lok Sabha constituencies. A total of 96 candidates had filed nomination papers out of which 42 were rejected. Tomorrow is the last date for withdrawal of candidature.
According to the State Chief Electoral Office (CEO), a maximum of 20 nomination papers were rejected in the Araria Lok Sabha constituency where 29 candidates had filed their nomination papers. In Jhanjharpur, out of 17 nomination papers, 10 have been found valid.
On the other hand, in the Supaul Lok Sabha constituency, 15 nomination papers were accepted, while 09 papers in Araria, 08 in Madhepura and 12 nomination papers were found valid in Khagaria parliamentary constituencies. Polling will be held on 7th May in these Lok Sabha segments.
