In Bihar, the Home Department has suspended social media services till the 30th of July in Darbhanga district. The order has come into force today at 4.00 pm. Services like Whats App, Facebook, and YouTube have been temporarily suspended for the period. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of communal clashes which took place a couple of days ago in the district.
The Secretary of the Home Department has said some inputs have been received from the district police that miscreants may disturb peace and tranquility in the area by using social media messages. The district administration is keeping a tight vigil in view of upcoming processions of Muharram.
