Polling for the by-election in Rupauli assembly constituency in Purnea district, Bihar concluded peacefully on Wednesday. According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Office an estimated 57.25 percent voters exercised their voting rights till 6 pm.

In the 2020 assembly elections the voter’s turnout was registered at 61.19 percent. Political fortunes of 11 candidates including JD(U) nominee Kaladhar Prasad Mandal and RJD candidate Bima Bharti were sealed today in EVMs. Counting of votes will be held on Saturday. Earlier the seat was represented by Bima Bharti, who resigned from this seat and JD(U) this year to contest Lok Sabha election on RJD ticket.
