Nomination papers of 39 candidates were found valid for the first phase of parliamentary elections in Gaya, Jamui, Nawada and Aurangabad parliamentary constituencies in Bihar. Scrutiny of nomination papers of 72 candidates was held on Saturday.
Maximum 12 nomination papers were rejected from Aurangabad parliamentary constituency where a total of 21 candidates had submitted papers. In Gaya out of 22 nominations 07 were rejected while in Nawada 09 nomination papers were found invalid. A total of 17 candidates had filed nomination papers for the Nawada Lok Sabha seat.
In Jamui constituency 12 candidates had submitted their papers out of which 05 were rejected. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is 2nd April.
Polling will be held on 19th April for these four parliamentary segments.
