In Bihar, the nomination for the four parliamentary constituencies segments of Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada and Jamui in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections will end tomorrow. Scrutiny of papers will be held on the 30th of March. The Election Commission of India has extended the last date of nomination given holidays related to the Holi festival and Bihar Foundation Day.
On the last date of filing of nomination papers candidates from NDA and Grand Alliance will throng to the premises of returning officers tomorrow. For the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in all four seats so far only 10 candidates have filed their nomination papers. From the NDA side, BJP is contesting on two seats whereas one each seat is contested by Hindustani Awam Morcha and Lok Janshakti Party.
Akashwani correspondent reports that Among prominent candidates, BJP nominee Sushil Kumar Singh from Aurangabad and RJD candidate Shrawan Kumar Kushwaha from Nawada have filed their nominations. From NDA Hindustani Awam Morcha leader Jitan Ram Manjhi will file a nomination from Gaya and BJP nominee Vivek Thakur from the Nawada Lok Sabha seat. Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) nominee Arun Bharati will also file his nomination paper from the Jamui constituency. In the Grand Alliance, the formal announcement of candidates for the first phase has not taken place. RJD candidates Kumar Sarvjeet, Archana Ravidas and Abhay Kushwaha who got party symbols from the RJD President Lalu Prasad are likely to submit their nomination papers for Gaya, Jamui and Aurangabad parliamentary constituencies.
