In Bihar, the state government has ordered a review of the safety measures, registration, and fire safety standards in coaching institutes across the state. State Education Minister Sunil Kumar today said we have ordered all the district magistrates to conduct searches of coaching institutions to take stock of the status of compliance with essential standards laid for them. Mr Kumar said taking lessons from the recent unfortunate incident at a coaching institute in New Delhi, we are taking these steps in Bihar.

He said fire safety measures, compliance with building bye-laws, registration of institutions, the arrangement of entry and exit systems, and a mitigation plan regarding any emergency will be taken into account.

In Patna, a massive drive has been launched across all sub-divisions of the district. District Magistrate of Patna, Dr Chandra Shekhar Singh, said during the search drives in coaching institutes, several discrepancies have been observed, and they have been served notices to rectify them in the interest of students.
