Bihar Govt approves first film promotion policy to support movie makers and cinema enthusiasts

The Bihar government has approved its first film promotion policy, aiming to provide full institutional support to movie makers and cinema enthusiasts. The decision was taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Under the policy, financial grants of up to four crore rupees will be provided for producing regional films showcasing cultural heritage of Bihar.

 

It aims to attract filmmakers towards scenic locations and infrastructure in the state.

 

The government will provide full institutional support to movie makers for feature films, documentaries, TV serials and OTT films. Special financial grants and incentives will also be provided under the policy for regional films in Bhojpuri, Maithili, Magahi, angika and Bajjika. For financial support, shooting permission and other help, a Film Facilitation Cell will also be constituted.
