In Bihar, a two-day state-level mango festival Aamotsav-2024 was today inaugurated by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Rajbhavan premises.

Mr. Arlekar said Bihar has a huge potential in terms of production, marketing and processing of mango. He emphasized on setting up of processing and packaging units of mango in the state.

The mango festival envisages promotion of mango production, its processing, marketing, branding and export. During the mango festival discussions will be held with horticulture scientists, mango producers, farmers and exporters related to production of mango and problems of mango harvesting in North India.

A buyers and sellers meet will be also held during the two-day programme. An exhibition of more than 300 mango varieties has been also organized for common people. More than one thousand farmers, orchards, horticulturists and scientists are participating in the festival.
