Bihar gets heavy rain, two people lose their lives, and 13 injured

In Bihar, heavy rains lashed many parts of the state today. South West Monsoon is very active in the state. As a result,  Begusarai and Samastipur today received very heavy rainfall. The highest precipitation of 351 mm was recorded in Chaurahi in Begusarai district.
 
Heavy rainfall was recorded in several parts of Patna, Jamui, Vaishali, Nawada, Kishanganj, Araria, Madhubani, Madhepura, Supaul, Gaya, and Rohtas. Heavy water logging was witnessed in several parts of the state, including the capital city Patna.
 
In view of very heavy rainfall, the MeT Department has issued a red alert for today in Madhubani, Araria, and Supaul districts. A yellow alert has been sounded in most parts of the state.
AIR correspondent said that More than 300 millimeters of rainfall was recorded at Chaurhai, Hasanpur, and Rosera in Begusarai and Samastipur districts. Heavy rainfall ranging from 290 millimeters to 110 millimeters has thrown normal life out of gear in Banka, Vaishali, Jamui, Lakhisarai, Patna, and Muzaffarpur districts. A culvert on the link road was caved in Jamui district on Barnar River in Sono block. Two people lost their lives and 13 others were injured in rail-related mishaps in Banka and Jamui districts. The Disaster Management Department has appealed to people to not go outside during the rains in view of lightning and thunderstorm activities.
